Til Chikki using Sugar - Til Patti Recipe - Magic of Indian Rasoi -Priya R

Til Chikki using Sugar is a quick recipe and tastes great. Sesame seeds helps relieve cough problems and it is widely used during winters and Chikki is a very popular form of eating it. It is crunchy and tastes like Gajak using sugar. With little practice and following the recipe perfectly you can make this wonderful Chikki at home! Enjoy this sweet with your loved ones!

Ingredients:

1/2 Cup Sugar
1/4 Cup Sesame Seeds/Til
1-2 Pinch Elaichi Powder
Ghee for greasing


Serves: Makes about 125 g Til Ki Chikki
Preparation time: 10 min
Cooking time: 15-20 min
* 1 Cup = 237 ml

Method:

1. In a pan, dry roast Sesame Seeds for 2-3 mins on low flame. Don't let the color change.
2. Remove in a bowl. Keep aside.
3. In the same pan, add Sugar & spread it with spatula.
4. Keep the flame low & allow the sugar to melt completely. Stir occasionally in between. It takes about 15 mins. Do not turn the flame high, sugar can burn.
5. As soon as sugar melts, switch off the flame.
6. Quickly add, Elaichi Powder & Sesame Seeds. Mix well.
7. Transfer this mixture quickly on a greased rolling board.
8. Roll as thin as you like with greased rolling pin.
9. Before the Chikki sets, make square cut marks using greased pizza cutter or sharp knife.
10. Allow to cool for 30 mins.
11. Separate the Chikki pieces and store in air tight container for 7 - 10 days.
12. Til Chikki is ready to serve!
