Khajoor Paan Balls - Khajur Paan ki Mithai Recipe - 1
Khajoor Paan Balls are sweet balls made out of dates and betel leaves (Kolkata paan). This mithai is sugar free and hence can be consumed by people following sugar free diet. The sweetness of the balls from dates. They are easy to prepare and require no cooking. Apart from dates and paan saunf (fennel seeds) and other ingredients are added to enhance taste. They are perfect for festivals and gifting. For decorating the paan balls you may use desiccated coconut, colourful saunf and sprinkles and it is completely optional! Do try it today!

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup dates paste
6 finely chopped betel leaves
2 tbsp fennel seeds
3 tbsp desiccated coconut
1/2 tsp clippings of betel nuts
1/8 tsp rose essence

For Decoration (Optional):

2 tbsp desiccated coconut
3 tbsp colourful saunf
3 tbsp colourful sprinkles

SERVES: Makes approx. 345g Khajoor Paan Balls
PREPARATION TIME: 15 min
TOTAL TIME: 15 min
* 1 CUP = 237 ML

METHOD:

  1. Mix dates paste, finely chopped betel leaves, fennel seeds, desiccated coconut, clippings of betel nuts & rose essence well to a smooth mixture.
  2. Scoop using a spoon & make equal sized balls.
  3. Paan Balls are ready!
  4. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
  5. Store in airtight container in fridge for 15 days.


For Decoration (Optional):

  1. Roll few balls each in desiccated coconut, colourful saunf & colourful sprinkles.
