Eggless Donuts Recipe (Soft & Spongy) - 1
Eggless Donuts are an easy to make recipe at home & they turn out really soft & spongy. Donuts are made from all purpose flour & sugar which is kneaded to dough along with yeast. The dough is then proved & then deep fried before decorating them. They are round shape & kids love it. Here we have shown how to decorate it with melted dark chocolate. They taste absolutely divine. INGREDIENTS:

¾ cup all purpose flour
2 tbsp + 2 tsp powdered sugar
½ tsp instant dry yeast
¼ cup lukewarm milk
1 tbsp salted butter
50g melted dark chocolate
For decoration: Chocolate stars, Colourful sprinkles, Walnut pieces, Desiccated coconut, Sugar balls

SERVES: Makes 14-15 mini donuts
PREPARATION TIME: 25 min
COOKING TIME: 12 min
PROVING TIME: 1 h 40 min
TOTAL TIME: 2 h 17 min
* 1 CUP = 237 ML

METHOD:

  1. In a bowl take ¾ cup all purpose flour, 2 tbsp + 2 tsp powdered sugar, ½ tsp instant dry yeast & mix.
  2. Using ¼ cup lukewarm milk knead it to dough. Use little water/milk if dough is dry.
  3. Using 1 tbsp salted butter knead the dough for 8-9 till smooth.
  4. Cover the dough & prove for 1 hour in a dark place.
  5. Knead dough for 2-3 min & then roll it on a platform using a rolling pin & dusting flour to 3 cm thick. 
  6. Cut round donut shape using a donut cutter. Alternatively use a big & a small round bowl shape to cut outer & inner circles of donuts.
  7. Place donut in a plate.
  8. Cut all donuts in same manner (step 6-7).
  9. Cover & prove for 30-40 min. 
  10. Heat oil for frying & then lower flame.
  11. Fry donuts in batches in hot oil on low flame till golden in colour on both sides.
  12. Take it out on paper napkin.
  13. Fry remaining donuts in same manner (step 11, 12).
  14. Take 50g melted dark chocolate in a bow.
  15. Dip donut in it till halfway & then put on a plate with chocolate dipped side up.
  16. Garnish with Chocolate stars & Colourful sprinkles. 
  17. Repeat step 15-16 for other donuts. Garnish alternatively with Chocolate stars & Colourful sprinkles, Walnut pieces, Desiccated coconut, Sugar balls. 
  18. Serve. Store donuts in airtight container in fridge for 1-2 days.
