Cheese Corn Potato Balls | Indian Style Cheese Corn Balls Recipe - Magic of Indian Rasoi- Priya R

Cheese Corn Potato Balls is a famous starters served at various restaurants, marriages and parties. It is usually made with corn flour, maida, corn and cheese are main ingredients. Here a modified version is presented using potatoes as binding agent instead of corn flour. This yummy started snack is loved by all especially kids. It has good nutritional value also as cheese and corn are used.

Ingredients:

1 Cup Boiled and mashed Potatoes
1/2 Cup roughly crushed boiled Corn
1/2 Tbsp chopped Green Chillies
1 Tbsp freshly chopped Coriander leaves
1/2 Tsp Chilli flakes
1/2 Tsp Oregano
1/8 Tsp Black Pepper powder
1/4 Tsp + 1/8 Tsp Chaat Masala
1/4 Cup + 1/4 Cup fresh Bread crumbs (8-10 bread slices)
2 Cubes Processed Cheese cut in to 8 small cubes
2 Tbsp Maida
1/4 Cup Water
Oil for frying
Salt to taste

Serves: Makes 8 balls
Preparation time: 15 min
Cooking time: 15 min
* 1 cup = 237 ml


Method:

1. In a bowl mix mashed Potatoes, Boiled Corn, Green Chillies, Coriander leaves, Chilli flakes, Oregano, Black Pepper powder, 1/4 tsp Chaat Masala, and salt.
2. Add 1/4 cup Bread crumbs and mix well. (To make bread crumbs grind 8-10 bread slices.) Add more bread crumbs to the mixture if it is still moist.
3. Now take about 1 tbsp mixture and roll it in ball. Make small cavity in the ball and fill it with processed cheese. Now press the sides and roll the mixture in to ball shape covering the cheese. Ensure to cover the cheese with mixture completely. Keep aside in a plate. Repeat the process for rest of the mixture.
4. Take a bowl and mix Maida and Water to fine paste.
5. Dip the prepared balls in paste and cover it nicely. Transfer the balls in bowl of bread crumbs and coat well. Keep aside in a plate. Repeat the process for rest of the balls.
6. Put the balls in refrigerator for 30 min.
7. Deep fry the balls in oil on medium to high flame. The balls cook fast so ensure to keep stirring and take the balls out once they turn golden.
8. Sprinkle 1/8 tsp Chaat Masala.
9. Serve with ketchup or green chutney. Cheese corn potato balls are ready!
